<br />Senior Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />5/18/10 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Chair Report - Larry Brassem reported that he and Bob had met with Malcolm <br />Fleming and according to the City Manager there is no change needed with the <br />Senior Advisory Board and the recent Resolution is unnecessary. <br /> <br />AAC Report - Debbie Fahey thanked the Senior Advisory Board for the <br />opportunity to serve as the AAC representative. Boulder County has a web site, <br />www.Bldrcohelp.ora which includes information on a wide variety of tops <br />including senior services and programs. Kate recommended that it be included <br />in the next Community Newsletter. Boulder County will be updating the Strategic <br />Plan and assignments will be made at the next meeting. Robin Bohanan <br />reported on Community Services focusing on Aging Services. She said <br />Louisville was not participating in low income programs. <br /> <br />City Council Report-Dave Clabots Dave talked about the closing of Sam's Club <br />and the economic impact on Louisville. He said the City Council was looking for <br />ways to fill the space but Sam's had put numerous restrictions on filling the <br />space. The old Post Office has been leased to "Lucky Pie" a pizza restaurant. <br />Beef O'Bradys has a new owner and soon will be Ralphie's. There are currently <br />state-wise incentives which would reduce vehicle & state tax to Louisville. We <br />would like these not to pass. <br /> <br />Treasurer's Report-Rosalie Lynn reported no action in the previous month. The <br />board paid $47.00 & $50.00 respectively for Ron Leggett & Vince Lombardi to <br />participate in the Senior Games. The $2,300.00 CD will be cashed in later this <br />year to pay for the 5th day of the senior lunch program. <br /> <br />Staff Reports-Katie Beasley - An outside company will be facilitating the <br />upcoming strategic plan for Boulder County Aging Services. Louisville will host <br />one of the work groups to discuss updating the County Strategic Plan. The Ice <br />Cream Social will be partnered with Volunteer Appreciation on Thursday, July <br />15th. The first meeting of the Senior Foundation for 2010 will be held today at <br />4:00pm. The Study Session with the City Council will be Tuesday, July13th at <br />the Louisville Library, time to be announced. <br /> <br />Focus Groups <br />A. Housing-Bob Pierce <br />1. Bob would like a statement of support from the Senior Advisory <br />Board for the Senior Housing recommendations included in the Louisville <br />Comprehensive Plan to be considered as additions to Louisville's Building Code <br />forwarded to Malcolm Fleming and the planning director.
