Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 15, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br /> <br /> <br />Architectural Survey <br />Discussion ensued regarding how to proceed on getting the architectural survey <br />updated. <br />Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator, offered some suggestions on how to <br />proceed. She reminded the commission an outside consultant should use her for <br />the social history aspect. <br />Koertje asked to bring in a survey specialist to speak with the commission. He <br />directed staff to contact Colorado Preservation Inc. to see who they would <br />recommend for a group discussion. <br />Community Outreach <br />Poppitz stated he would be interested in working on this element. <br />Muckle recommended outreaching the commissions efforts to the real estate <br />industry so they could be informed of the HPF when clients are interested in Old <br />Town. <br />Mine Marker <br />Muckle stated she is still working on the background research for additional <br />information and is finding some very interesting information to include on the <br />placards. <br />Old Town Historic District <br />The commission believed this item was already discussed during the update to <br />the architectural survey. <br /> <br />Update on Demolition Requests – 720 Pine Street - garage <br />McCartney gave an update of the subcommittee review and informed the <br />commission the demolition permit was released by the subcommittee without <br />need for a public hearing. <br />Discussion/Comments on Planning Department Referrals – none <br />Updates <br />Hecla Casino <br />Koertje stated the Boulder County Housing Authority is interested in moving the <br />structure. He stated Michael Shoenbrun, the property owner, is donating the <br />structure. <br />Items from Staff <br />Loan Program <br />McCartney explained how a loan would be processed, through internal City <br />offices, once it made it through HPC approval. <br />Landmarking of Cemetery <br />McCartney stated staff would start the application for the landmarking of the <br />cemetery and should have this before HPC in April. <br /> <br />
