<br /> '" <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 924 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.80 <br /> OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> ENTITLED ETHICS CODE <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Louisville adopted a code of ethics in <br />1980; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Louisville <br />believes such code should be updated and reviewed in relation to its <br />operation and use over the last six years; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council believes the following amendments <br />to the ethics code maintain the spirit and intent of said code and <br />make said code easier to administer and enforce. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE COLORADO: <br /> Section l. Sections 2.80.020(B), 2.80.020(C) and <br />2.80.020(D) are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 2.80.020 - DEFINITIONS <br /> B. "Contract" means any express or implied agreement <br /> containing the elements required under the law for a <br /> contract and which creates, modifies, or destroys a <br /> particular relationship with the City, including the <br /> designation of a depository for public funds. <br /> C. "Relative" means any person related to a public <br /> officer or employee by blood or marriage, in any of the <br /> following degrees: parents, spouse, children, brothers and <br /> sisters, parents-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, <br /> first cousins, grandparents, grandchildren, and children- <br /> in-law. A divorce or separation between spouses shall not <br /> be deemed to terminate relationships described herein. <br /> D. "Interest" means a pecuniary or valuable benefit <br /> which accrues to a public officer or employee, <br /> individually, as a result of a contract or transaction <br /> which is, or may be, th e subject of an official act or <br /> action by or with the City. Interest does not include <br /> contracts or transactions which by their terms and by their <br /> provisions confer the opportunity and right to realize the <br /> benefits to all other persons and/or property similarly <br /> situated. <br /> ( 1 ) For the purposes of this Chapter. a public <br /> officer shall be deemed to have an interest in the <br /> affairs of: <br />
