<br />"I <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 943 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 10 OF THE LOUISVILLE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE COMPULSORY INSURANCE <br />FOR OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE AND CONCERNING <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR CHILD RESTRAINTS AND SEATBELTS <br />AND AMENDING REGULATIONS CONCERNING OPERATION OF <br />BICYCLES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety of the City of <br />Louisville has suggested certain changes to ordinances of the <br />City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, State statutes recently enacted also should be <br />adopted to require compliance and allow enforcement by the City; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Louisville <br />believes that the following Ordinance additions will benefit the <br />citizens of the City. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. The following Chapter 10.32 is hereby added to <br />Title 10 of the Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 10.32 <br /> <br />COMPULSORY INSURANCE <br /> <br />10.32.010. No owner of a motor vehicle required to be <br />registered in this state shall operate the vehicle or permit it <br />to be operated upon a street or highway of this municipality when <br />he has failed to have a complying policy or certificate of self- <br />insurance in full force and effect as required by C.R.S. 1973, <br />10-4-705 and 10-4-716. <br />10.32.020. No person shall operate a motor vehicle upon the <br />streets and highways of this municipal i ty without a complying <br />policy or certificate of self-insurance in full force and effect <br />as required by C.R.S. 1973, 10-4-705 and 10-4-716. <br />10.32.030. When an accident occurs, or when requested to do <br />so following any lawful traffic contact or during any traffic <br />investigation by a peace officer, no owner or operator of a <br />motor vehicle shall fail to present to the requesting officer <br />immediate evidence of a complying policy or certificate of self- <br />insurance in full force and effect as required by C.R.S. 1973, <br />10-4-705 and 10-4-716. <br />10.32.040. The failure of any owner or operator of a motor <br />vehicle to present immediate evidence of a complying policy or <br />certificate of self-insurance in full force and effect as <br />required by C.R.S. 1973, 10-4-705 and 10-4-716, when requested to <br />do so by a peace officer, shall constitute prima facie evidence, <br />at a trial concerning a violation charged under subsection (1) or <br />
