Public Comments
Jean Morgan presented information regarding the moving and preservation of
Miss Downer's cabins, which are located at the corner of Lee and Spruce
Streets. The two cabins were built around 1935 by Emmett Trott and are now
owned by Michael McAlpine. Two of the cabins may be moved to the Harney-
Lastoka Community Gardens. The cost to move them is unknown. Meredyth
Muth is working on a grant to pay the moving costs. As currently agreed upon by
the Lastoka Committee, the cabins to be used for storage of gardening tools.

Morgan would like the Lastoka Committee to consider using one of the two
cabins as an interpretive site that would show living conditions of the time.
Morgan asked if there would be a possibility of moving one cabin to the empty
concrete pad next to the Museum. Meredyth Muth noted that the landscape plan
for the museum removes that concrete pad and puts additional plants and a
special event area there.

City Manager's Office
303.335.4536 (phone)

City of Louisville
749 Main Street
303.335.4550 (fax)

Louisville CO 80027
www.ci./ouisville.co.us
