<br />Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />August 23,2006 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br />5. Stretz family history donated by Ellen Cholski <br />B. Don Ross brought the following potential donations to the Commission's <br />attention: <br />1. Tim Seeber has a collection of barbed wire that the Museum might want <br />to investigate for possible donation. <br />2. Larry and Kathy Martella have several items to consider as donations. <br />These will be investigated. <br />C. Sabrina Karash visited the Museum and is asking the public for information <br />about Louisville ghost stories. <br /> <br />X. Committee Reports <br />A. Jordinelli House <br />1. The placement of stoves is still being studied <br />2. Don Ross submitted a list of volunteers who have worked on the Jordinelli <br />House for review before names are placed on a plaque. <br />3. The punching machine will be placed near the parking lot of the Jordinelli <br />House. <br />4. Bridget Bacon will take photos of the large outdoor items and placement <br />will be discussed at the next meeting. <br />5. Bridget Bacon's hours have been reduced, therefore the opening of the <br />Jordinelli House will be in the spring. <br />B. Museum Campus <br />1. $1,459.00 in landscaping plants has been ordered by the City, to be <br />reimbursed by the Commission. Beds A,B,C,D,K and a portion of E will be <br />installed in October. <br />2. Elle Cabbage will mail invoices to donors who have pledged funds for the <br />flowerbeds. <br />3. Donna Hauswald will approach McStain builders about funding or <br />donating a new fence for the campus. <br />4. Don Ross volunteered to clean the outhouse prior to fall school tours. <br />C. Education <br />1. Visitor's Report <br />a. There were 81 visitors in July <br />b. There have been 867 visitors to-date this year. <br />2. Tours - Residents from Balfour toured the Museum <br />D. Events and Fundraising <br />1. Commission sales from the Street Faire netted $38.50 <br />2. Commission sales from La Festa netted $152.00 <br />3. Finding the Soul of a City Art Auction <br />a. 12 pieces were sold <br />b Catalogs are still being sold <br />c. A representative from the project would like to attend our September <br />meeting to present a check to the Commission <br />4. Fall Festival <br />a. $4,000 worth of items have been donated so far <br />b. New banners for the Silent Auction and 20th anniversary balloons for <br />the Historical Society were presented <br />c. Balloons will be given out at the Silent Auction <br />d. Commission members received their new shirts to be worn at events. <br />
