Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board <br />Agenda <br />DATE <br />Page 2of 2 <br />Electricity to Arboretum—Chris stated that electrical lines to sprinkler system will <br />VIII. <br />be installed by October, with capacity for a 40-zone box. Chris is also looking at a <br />“hybrid” sprinkler system which would include the present overhead sprinklers and a <br />new drip system for trees. <br />Future landscaping around Arboretum pergola—see item VII <br />IX. <br />Meeting with Planning Director Troy Russ—will try to schedule for November <br />X. <br />HFAB meeting. Discussion to include tree preservation guidelines and commercial <br />landscape maintenance issues. <br />Thursday, September 2, 2010 at <br />Discussion Items for Next Meeting— <br />XI. <br />Arboretum. <br />(Please note if weather does not cooperate, we will have to meet at the <br />library because the Rec Center is closed that week for maintenance. Also, we should <br />consider starting meeting earlier—6:30 pm—because it will be getting dark by 8:00.) <br />Discuss pergola landscaping; meeting with Troy Russ; and fundraising ideas, including <br />how to legally use the Arboretum for fundraising activities, advertising at next summer’s <br />Street Faire, plant exchange/sale at Saturday farmers’ market, Trees Across Colorado <br />as a model for a local Arbor Day event, and Boulder’s Garden in a Box program. <br />Meeting was adjourned at 8:40 pm. <br />XII. <br /> <br />
