Property Management/Maintenance Report <br />Rent and Occupancy Update <br />Eviction here at Regal Square in #12 because resident could not be located after 3 months. A <br />resident passed away at Regal Square #5. No next of kin so working with the Coroner's <br />regarding paperwork and what's left in the apartment. Selena questioned what they do with <br />remains. Frank stated they are usually cremated. <br />3 <br />Monthly Rental Vacancy Report <br />At Sunnyside 1 unit will be available F -1 a 40% unit and rent is set at $695. Another one is <br />coming up at D -4 with a full rent of $910. Steve said we should make that a goal of moving <br />residents on A Lydia Morgan unit #215 will be available since resident passed away, but will <br />be leased to someone in mid August. Selena mentioned she wants to link people with the <br />availabilities: Frank asked how often we used. Craigslist and if it works. Sally stated we use <br />it a lot about 70% in conjunction with our web page. Sally also mentioned that we barely pay <br />for advertising anymore. The audit here at Lydia Morgan from CHFA went well (tenant <br />files). <br />Section "8: HCV.Program Report <br />Monthly statistics <br />Currently 69 section 8 voucher holders reside within the City of Louisville and we are holding <br />firm for Louisville. Holding steady on the budgetary authority. We are issuing a few more <br />vouchers coming up, so we will get a few more people off the waiting list, which has been <br />frozen since last year. There are currently 950 residents on the list because we need <br />additional funding. Selena asked if there is a possibility of opening the waitlist this year? <br />Chuck stated it has been frozen since 2005 and reopened it in 2008 and many people applied. <br />We received well over 1000 applications, and now list is purged annually and we just need <br />more funding: Selena thought that maybe we should open the wait list to give them some <br />hope. Frank stated we used to never close our list and that really significantly increased <br />application processing time and the wait time for housing. Staff felt that having the list <br />continually open only gave the community false hope. That is why we don't have it open <br />right now Chuck said that maybe it should be opened when it gets down to 200 individuals. <br />We are asking for more money from Family Unification Program to fund us for 50 more <br />vouchers. Frank Chuck said we should know in four weeks regarding the application. We <br />are also requesting 100 vouchers for non-elderly disabled folks for a lottery will be in <br />September. Selena said she is receiving more calls now that the Louisville office was closed. <br />Steve asked about aid for individuals to buy homes. Frank said we have a continuum of <br />services to promote individuals movement to homeownership. Rob says we need to build this <br />and give people a nudge. Scott said this is all philisophical and complicated. Steve asked <br />what percentange participate 130 participate in FSS. 400 participate in the HCP classes <br />monthly. FSS Casa Esperanza are the most successful at promoting family <br />
