Payment of each installment of interest shall be ma de to the registered owner hereof whose name shall appear on the reg i stra tion books of the C i t Y ma in t a in ed by or on behalf of the City by Central Bank of Denver, a ba nki ng corporation, in Denver, Colorado, or its successor, as Bond Registrar, at the close of business on the fifteenth (l5t h) day of the calendar month next preceding each interest payment date (the "Record Date"), and shall be pa id by check or draft of the Paying Agent mailed to such registered owner at his address as it appears on such registration books. Bonds of this issue ma tur ing on and after December 1 , 1997, are subject to redemption prior to ma t ur i t Y , at the option of the City, as a whole or in integral multiples of $5,000, in inverse order of mat uri ty, and if less than an entire maturity is to be redeemed, then by lot within such maturity, on December 1 , 1996, and on any interest payment date thereafter, upon payment of par, accrued interest, and a premium of 1.00% of the principal amount so redeemed.
