<br /> lanes. ( E ) Fire lanes shall be of suitable construction to withstand <br /> the weight of fire apparatus and must be able to hold 15 tons for a <br /> single family residence and 25 tons for multi-family, commercial and <br /> industrial needs. ( F ) The emergency access roadway must be remote <br /> as possible from the main access and have access to all parts of <br /> development. Increase in the minimum access widths where such widths <br /> are not adequate for fire or rescue operations may be required. <br /> 15.12.080 PLACEMENT OF FIRE HYDRANTS. ( A) Fire Hydrants <br /> shall be placed at each street intersection and on each side of any <br /> divided highway, roadway or street, wherever possible. ( B ) In a <br /> residential area, there shall be no more than 500 feet, fire access <br /> distance, between hydrants. No residential unit shall be more than <br /> 250 feet, fire access distance, from the nearest hydrant. ( C) In <br /> multi-family, industrial, business or commercial areas, there shall <br /> be no more than 300 feet, fire access distance, between hydrants. No <br /> building shall be more than l50 feet, fire access distance, from the <br /> nearest hydrant. <br /> Section 3 . Section 15.52.0l0, 15.52.030, and 15.52.040 of <br /> the Louisville Municipal Code are hereby repealed. <br /> Section 4 . The following sections are added to Chapter <br /> l5.52, Title 15 of the Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> 15.52.010 ADOPTION. Pursuant to Title 31, Article l6, of <br /> Colorado Revised Statutes, 1973 as amended, there is adopted as part <br /> of this code by reference the Safety Code for Elevators and <br /> Escalators, 1984 Edition, published by the American Society of <br /> Mechanical Engineers, 345 East 47th Street, New York, New York, <br /> 10017, to have the same force and effect as if set forth herein in <br /> every particular. The subject matter of the adopted code includes <br /> requirements for elevators, escalators, moving walks, material lifts <br /> and dumbwaiters and includes standards relating to design. <br /> construc.i ton, safety matters and other factors related to maintenance <br /> and construction of elevators and escalators. In additional sections <br /> of this chapter where a reference is made to the Safety Code for <br /> Elevators and Escalators, said reference shall be to the 1984 Edition <br /> of said Code. <br /> l5.52.030 COPIES AVAILABLE AT OFFICE OF CITY CLERK. At <br /> least three copies of the Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators, <br /> 1984 Edition, all certified to be true and accurate, shall be <br /> available for reference by an interested person between the hours of <br /> 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p. m. , Monday through Friday, holidays, excepted, <br /> at th e office of the city clerk. Said code as adopted shall be <br /> available for sale to the public through the office of the city clerk <br /> at a reasonable price. <br /> l5.52.040 PENALTY CLAUSE. Any person. firm or corporation <br /> violating any of the provisions of the Safety Code for Elevators and <br /> Escalators, 1984 Edition, shall be deemed guilty of a separate <br /> -3- <br />
