<br /> ORDINANCE NO. 912 <br /> - <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10.04.020 <br /> OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE ADDING <br /> SECTIONS 22-20 AND 22-21 OF THE <br /> MODEL TRAFFIC CODE FOR COLORADO <br /> MUNICIPALITIES, 1977 EDITION, GOVERNING <br /> THE IMPOUNDING AND DISPOSAL OF ABANDONED <br /> VEHICLES, MODIFYING AND ADDING SECTIONS <br /> TO 10.28.020 REGARDING TOWING OF <br /> VEHICLES ON PRIVATE PROPERTY AND <br /> CONCERNING THE DISPLAY OF VEHICLES FOR <br /> SALE. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> WHEREAS, the Colorado State Statutes governing the <br /> towing and storage of abandoned vehicles has been modified; and, <br /> WHEREAS, certain procedures must now be specifically <br /> followed, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council also desire to adopt regula- <br /> tions regarding display of vehicles for sale upon private <br /> property. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, as follows: <br /> Section 1 . Section 10.04.020 of the Louisville <br /> Municipal Code is hereby amended to add the following sections of <br /> the Model Traffic Code for Colorado Municipalities: <br /> G. "Section 22-20. (a) Authority to impound vehicles. <br /> Whenever any police officer finds a vehicle, attended or <br /> unattended, standing upon any portion of a street or highway <br /> right-of-way within this municipality in such a manner as to <br /> constitute a violation of section 10.5 of this Code, or left <br /> unattended on public property, including any portion of a street <br /> right-of-way for a period of 24 hours or more, such officer shall <br /> require such motor vehicle to be removed or cause the same to be <br /> removed and placed in storage in any impound lot designated or <br /> maintained by the law enforcement agency employing such officer. <br /> (b) Whenever any police officer finds a motor vehicle, <br /> attended or unattended, standing upon any portion of a street <br /> right-of-way in such a manner as to constitute an obstruction to <br /> traffic or proper street maintenance, such officer is authorized <br /> to cause the motor vehicle to be moved to eliminate any such <br /> obstruction; and neither the officer nor anyone acting under his <br /> direction shall be liable for any damage to such motor vehicle <br /> occasioned by such removal. " <br />
