Meeting Minutes
December 6, 2023
V. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda
None
VI. Workplan
Meetings with Marshall Fire Families
Helen inquired whether the Committee just plans to perform some
informal outreach. Susan stated that programming from Northern Water
has superseded the Committee's plans. Susan plans to attend the meeting
cited below as a Committee representative.
From Marshall Fire Recovery Newsletter:
Sustainable Landscape Templates Open House
Monday, Dec. 11 1 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Louisville Recreation & Senior Center, 900 Via Appia Way
Email Inerad(a)northernwater.org to add your name to the interest list.
Library Seed Swap
Louisville Library will host a Seed Swap on March 2, 2024. Susan has
excess seeds from Ecotober, but the Committee may want to solicit
seed donations from the community. Susan will coordinate with
John also about bringing Bee City USA materials to the swap.
Helen inquired about coordinating or following up on the seed swap
with a plant swap. Susan volunteered that the Committee probably
does not have the resources to organize a plant swap in 2024. Helen
reported that she reached out to the Colorado Beekeeping Society
about growing plants but that she just received an initial response.
Pollinator -Friendly Planting Initiative
The Committee agreed that renovating the Louisville Arboretum renovation
is a good idea. Susan would like to see native shrubs and other perennials,
perhaps as a demonstration garden; she suggested that the Parks and
Public Landscaping Advisory Board should lead these efforts.
