Parks & Public Landscaping Advisory Board, Bee City USA Subcommittee <br />Meeting Packet Materials <br />January 3, 2024 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Don Murray of People and Pollinators Action Network (PPAN) will <br />speak about PPAN and the work they do around the state and what <br />we can do locally to support our pollinators (reduce insecticides, <br />native plantings, etc.). PPAN has been responsible for removing <br />Glyphosphate and 2-4D from the shelves of garden centers and <br />putting these pesticides back in the hands of professionals. PPAN <br />sponsored legislation that has created the first ever Insect Health <br />Inventory for the State of Colorado. Tentatively scheduled for the <br />evening of Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024. <br />There are some issues with the AV system in the Library First Floor <br />Meeting room, which are inconvenient, but serviceable. Alternative <br />locations at the Rec Center are being explored. <br />Up -coming Meetings of Interest <br />Ways to Make and Keep a Garden for the Birds & Bees, a <br />conference co -sponsored by Audubon Rockies Habitat Hero and <br />Cheyenne -High Plains Audubon Society, Laramie, WY, Saturday Feb. <br />3, 2024.
