Recreation Advisory Board
Minutes
November 27, 2023
2024 Work Plan
• Lisa passed out the work plan for last year. She will update the plan and
send it out to board members, who can provide feedback to Kathy.
• In the section regarding pickleball, RAB members noted that the
pickleball community has clearly asked for dedicated outdoor pickleball
courts.
• RAB members expressed the desire to have year-round access to a
bathroom facility at the parks, even if that means that the facility is a Aort-
a -potty.
• It may be beneficial to prioritize our work plan items (high, medium, low)
when presenting them to City Council. However, that is challenging,
because of the disparity of costs between the various requests.
Lisa reached out to PPLAB members of the Outdoor Rec Sub -committee, but
didn't hear back. She will pursue this again.
Gene asked if the proposed "road diet" on Via Appia might have negative
consequences for patrons of the Recreation and Senior Center. That plan is
currently on hold, after significant negative response from citizens.
We will not meet in December, so our next meeting will be on January 22 with
new members on the Board.
Discussion Items for Next Meeting
Staff Updates
Introduction of New Members
Election of Officers
Confirmation of Places to Post Notices
Work Plan
Age -Well Plan
Board Updates
Adjourn — The meeting was adjourned at 7:49.
Motion: Lisa Norgard
Second: Gene Kutscher
