( BROOMFIELD RESOLUTION NO. 2-87 LOUISVILLE RESOLUTION NO. 54 Series 1986 A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE BROOMFIELD CITY COUNCIL AND THE LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIk SUPPORTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE U.S. 36 INTERCHANGE STUDY FOR AN ADDITIONAL INTERCHANGE ON U.S. HIGHWAY 36 AT 96TH STREET WHEREAS, the U.S. 36 Interchange Study (the "Study: ) has been completed; and WHEREAS, Phase 1 of the Study concluded that the existing Broomfield and Superior interchanges cannot handle the projected traffic demand for the year 2000 and clearly demonstrated the need for an additional interchange on U . S . 36 between the existing Broomfield and Superior interchanges; and WHEREAS, Phase 2 of the Study recommended that a new interchange be located on U.S. 36 at 96th Street extended together with an overpass at Coalton/Midway Boulevard along with additional improvements to the regional highway system, said interchange, overpass and certain of the improvements being schematically shown on Exhibit A hereto and hereinafter collectively referred to as the "96th Street Interchange;" and WHEREAS, the Study Group was formed to work with the consulting team of PRC Engineering and TransPlan Associates in the preparation of the Study; and WHEREAS, the Study Group was comprised of representatives from Boulder County, the City of Broomfield, and the City of Louisville and also had advisory members from the following agencies and organizations: City of Lafayette; Colorado Department of Highways - Districts 4 and 6 . Colorado Technological Center; , Interlocken Tech Park; Jefferson County; Storage Technology Corporation and the Denver Regional Council of Governments; and WHEREAS, the Study Group concurred with the Study's conclusions tha t the 96th Street Interchange and other improvements will be necessary; and WHEREAS, the Study has been submitted to the Broomfield City Council and to the Louisville City Council; and WHEREAS " the Cities of Broomfield and Louisville are the agencies most affected by the proposed new 96th Street Interchange;
