Susfainabilify Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />January 17, 2024 <br />Page 3 of 8 <br />Kayla brought to the Board's attention the documents concerning open <br />government rules and expectations for Board members_ <br />Tiffany inquired about Board members attending the City Council meetings in <br />March at which the Sustainability Division will present. Kayla encouraged Board <br />member participation_ especially at the presentation of the Community <br />Decarbonization Plan. <br />Kayla gave a brief overview of how the Board typically approaches discussion <br />items during its meetings. <br />Discussion Item: Comprehensive Plan — <br />Jeff Hirt, with the City's Planning Division, presented on the Comprehensive Plan <br />update process. See his slides in the meeting packet. <br />Public Comment <br />There was no public comment on this item. <br />Board Discussion <br />Todd inquired about what notable changes occurred with the previous <br />Comprehensive Plan update. Jeff replied that most of the City's land -use <br />regulations did not change with the last update. He volunteered that the current <br />Comprehensive Plan is perhaps too complex with too many layers, making it less <br />user-friendly. <br />John inquired about forums to discuss details of the update. Jeff replied that the <br />City will start with high-level surveys for residents to help to Identify issues, <br />especially concerning values and visions, that need the most attention.
