2.68.060 ENTRANCE SALARY: Employees shall be employed in
accordance with their respective position classification in effect
at the time of their employment and shall commence under the minimum
salary range unless written approval is obtained from the City
Administrator and budgeted funds are available to employ above this
rate.
2.68.070 SALARY INCREASES: Every employee in permanent status
may receive, in addition to his base salary, an annual salary increase
January 1 of each year. Such salary increases may be recommended in
the annual proposed budget of the City as submitted by the City
Administrator.
Employees hired after January 1 of each year and upon successful
completion of their probationary period may receive a pro-rated
share of the budgeted percentage of salary increases for that year.
Recommendation for a salary increase shall be based upon the written
performance appraisal of the employee's immediate supervisor.
Employees whose performance is evaluated as not meeting performance
standards shall be reviewed every 90 days until their performance
meets standards. Any employee's performance which does not meet
standards after two (2) successive performance appraisals shall
have his/her performance reviewed by the department head to determine
recommendations relative to continued employment in that position.
Any employee subjected to an above-referred 90 day review and on
this current review was found to be now meeting standards may be
eligible for the base budgeted percentage of salary increases for
that year.
Seasonal employees are not eligible for salary increases during the
season in which they are hired.
