<br /> <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE <br /> <br />April 9, 2002 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Louisville met in a study session at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room of <br />the Louisville Public Library, 950 Spruce Street, Louisville, Colorado. The following persons were <br />present - <br /> <br />City Council: Mayor Tom Davidson, Mayor Pro-tem Chuck Sisk, <br />Tom Mayer, John Keany, Michele Van Pelt, and <br />Arnold Levihn <br /> <br />Staff Present: Bill Simmons, City Manager <br />Heather Balser, Assistant to the City Manager <br />Paul Wood, Planning Director <br />Tom Phare, Public Works Director <br />Dianne Ray, Finance Director <br />Bruce Goodman, Chief of Police <br />Tom Bock, Police Commander <br />Bill Kingston, Police Commander <br />Anne Mojo, Library Director <br />Belinda Goebel, Administrative Assistant <br /> <br />Others Present: Mary Butler, Daily Camera <br /> Trevor Hughes, Louisville Times <br /> <br />Discussion/Direction – US 36 McCaslin Interchange <br />Tom Phare provided a brief history of the McCaslin Interchange Committee and introduced Joel <br />Meggers, Town of Superior, Alex Arinello, consultant for the Town of Superior, and Steve (last <br />name unknown), consultant with Washington Infrastructure Services. <br /> <br />Joel Meggers reviewed two options: 1) a one-loop/widened bridge concept and 2) a two-loop and <br />braided ramp concept. He explained that option 1 was the first option suggested after the initial <br />traffic study, which was based upon a 2020 build-out plan from Superior (14,000-15,000 <br />population). The cost for this option would be $15 million, with drawbacks being the large amount <br />of concrete and difficult construction to widen the bridge. <br /> <br />Option 2 provides better traffic flow, with easier construction, as there is no construction required <br />on the bridge. This option would provide for three southbound lanes and two northbound lanes. <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
