Discussion/Direction – City Council Goals <br />Based upon discussions at the July 9 goal setting session, staff prepared a list of goals for 2003. <br />Goals with Council consensus were included on the list, and goals requiring further Council <br />clarification were compiled on a separate list. Council directed staff to distribute the Council Goals <br />and City Manager Tasks via email in order for Council to prioritize each list. <br /> <br />City Manager Items <br />Bill Simmons reported that the Water Committee would be meeting in the near future to review <br />Water & Sewer Funds. He provided an update on negotiations for the post office site, explaining <br />that the City is not offering to relocate the post office. John Keany asked for clarification that <br />Council agreed to consider purchasing the post office location for a library site only if the post office <br />would remain in downtown Louisville. Council agreed. <br /> <br />Heather Balser distributed copies of an article from the Rocky Mountain News reporting that <br />Congressmen Udall & Tancredo are asking for $14.9 million to build bus-related transit <br />improvements along the Boulder Turnpike. <br /> <br />Mayor Davidson explained that he received a letter from Scott Robson, Boulder County, stating that <br />the County is forming a Regional Trail Committee and they are requesting two representatives from <br />Louisville to serve on the Committee. Michele Van Pelt volunteered to serve on the Committee, and <br />Cindy Lair agreed to ask for a volunteer from the Open Space Advisory Board to also serve on the <br />Committee. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:05 p.m. <br /> <br /> 4 <br />
