SSSUM 2002 09 10 <br /> <br />The hauler shall provide weekly trash collection of a maximum of thirty-two gallons of trash <br />and a minimum of thirty-two gallons of recyclable materials. City Council stated that most <br />citizens of Louisville now have ninety-six gallon containers and felt that a maximum of at <br />least sixty-four gallons should be included. <br /> <br />Recyclable materials shall be hauled to the Boulder County Recyclables Processing Center. <br />All revenues received from or costs due the Boulder County Recyclables Processing Center <br />for the City’s recyclable materials shall be the City’s. Chuck Sisk suggested that the City <br />allow the contractor the flexibility to choose which recycling processing center to use. <br />Mayor Davidson and Tom Mayer agreed. Peggy Flaherty distributed revenue information <br />for recycling materials and explained the Boulder center typically provides higher revenues. <br /> <br />Hours of operation shall be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through <br />Thursday. Saturday and Sunday collections are not permitted. Council questioned when <br />collections would be made due to a holiday or snow day and suggested that Saturday and <br />without permission of the City of Louisville. <br />Sunday collections are not permitted <br /> <br />All contractor route, service and supervisory vehicles shall be equipped with properly <br />licensed two-way radios. Council questioned the need for this requirement and suggested <br />that the contractor decide how to communicate with their employees. <br /> <br />No advertising shall be permitted on Contractor vehicles, other than the Contractor’s name, <br />logo and customer service telephone number. Tom Mayer questioned why this condition was <br />placed in the RFP; did Greenwood Village encounter problems? City Council suggested <br />allowing advertising on trucks, as the revenue from the advertising might offset the <br />Contractor’s charge to the City. Council agreed that advertising on Contractor vehicles <br />should be left up to the Contractor. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for billing the City monthly for trash and recyclable <br />materials collection. The City will pay the Contractor directly and bill individual customers <br />through its Finance Department’s utility billing system.
