<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />UPDATE – LOUISVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY PROJECT <br /> <br /> <br />Julie Boyd explained that the Library project moving ahead on schedule. The City is working with <br />Public Service Company to relocate the utility boxes across from the current library site before any <br />excavating can be done. <br /> Bill Simmons reported that the City has received two offers to purchase the current Louisville Public <br />Library building. <br /> <br /> CITY ATTORNEY’S REPORT <br /> <br />Sam Light stated that he is working on an open records matter with Nancy Varra and Bruce Goodman <br /> that may end up in District Court. <br /> <br /> CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />Tom Phare, Public Works Director, reported that an enhanced pedestrian crossing on Cherry Street <br /> <br /> has been installed. The crossing is similar to ones in Boulder, with strobe lights that can be activated <br /> by a push button. <br /> <br /> Paul Wood, Planning Director, provided an update on the Comprehensive Plan Update. There was a <br /> public workshop held November 18, which approximately 65 people attended. He explained that they <br /> are now meeting with various City Boards & Commissions for their input. The Comprehensive Plan <br /> will be drafted by mid-January, and reviewed in a joint study session with City Council and the <br /> Planning Commission on January 25. From there, the Comprehensive Plan will move forward with the <br /> public hearing process, with completion/adoption anticipated in March 2005. <br /> <br /> Councilman Brown commended staff and the Planning Commission for moving the Comprehensive <br /> Plan Update along at such a quick pace. <br /> <br /> Councilman Keany requested an update on the status of roofing permit inspections. <br /> <br /> Paul Wood explained that the City has been working with additional resources on weekends, <br /> completing approximately 250 inspections over the last two weekends. <br /> <br /> Heather Balser read a letter the City received from the Louisville Housing Authority regarding the site <br /> at 520 South Boulder Road. The Housing Authority has determined that they will not be building on <br /> the site. Heather suggested scheduling a joint study session with City Council to meet with the <br /> Louisville Housing Authority to discuss disposition of the property. She reported on two meetings <br /> scheduled in January: a legislative breakfast has been scheduled January 4, 2005 from 7:30 – 9:00 <br /> a.m. at the Louisville Arts Center, and a public workshop to discuss the Comcast Franchise renewal <br /> has been scheduled for January 20, 2005 from 5-7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> FUTUREAGENDAITEMS <br /> <br /> Bill Simmons reviewed proposed agenda items for the January 4, 2005 City Council meeting: <br /> <br /> Waldman Final Plat & PUD Approval <br /> <br /> Louisville Resource Conservation Advisory Board Grant Application <br /> <br /> Approval of Health Savings Account Benefit for Employees <br /> <br /> <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br /> Mayor Sisk reported that he recently spoke with Councilman Clabots and it appears that Councilman <br /> Clabots will be able to attend City Council meetings beginning January 4, 2005. <br /> <br /> Councilman Keany reported that Bon Fils Blood Center will be conducting a “Replenishment Blood <br /> Drive in Honor of Councilman Clabots” at Avista Hospital on December 29, 2004. <br /> <br /> <br />
