SIMMONS <br />CITY MANAGER <br />DATE: April 13, 2004 <br />SUBJECT: 2004 Louisville Citizen Survey. — Discussion/Direction <br />ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: City Manager's Office <br />SUMMARY: <br />Please find attached a draft of the 2004 Louisville Citizen Survey. The Citizen's Task Force appointed <br />by the Mayor has met twice to review drafts of the survey prior to Tuesday night's meeting. Task Force <br />Members include Elle Cabbage, Debbie Kreuger, Mallory Martin (chair of the Youth Advisory Board), <br />Bill McDermott, Joanie Riggins and John Sackett. <br />NRC proposes to conduct a mailed survey of Louisville residents. This survey will be designed to assess <br />resident perceptions of the quality of Louisville services and their opinions on various policy issues, if <br />desired. Many of questions from the 1999 survey will be included on the 2004 survey to provide <br />comparisons over time and facilitate the City's benchmarking efforts. New questions will be included to <br />address topics of current interest to the City. The survey will be designed as an omnibus citizen survey, <br />meaning that it will address a wide variety of topics. The Mayor has requested that new questions of <br />current interest to the City focus on the following topics: <br />1) Comp Plan 2) business retention and development 3) aquatics 4) housing 5) Public Access TV <br />and 6) FasTracks <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Discussion/Direction <br />SUBJECT 2004 Louisville Citizen Survey — AGENDA ITEM <br />Discussion/Direction <br />iii <br />
