Authority Report 2009 (cont.) <br />Suspected liquor code violations continue to be reviewed on an individual basis by the <br />Authority as incidents occur. Several incidents were reviewed and determined to require <br />no further action by the Authority. The Authority continues to encourage license holders <br />to appear before the Authority to discuss questions and concerns either the licensee or <br />the Authority might have and what can be done to avoid problems. <br />The Authority had only one Show Cause issue this year. <br />1) The Back Room: Charged with Serving a Visibly Intoxicated Person and Conduct <br />of the Establishment. The special prosecutor, Mark Shapiro, asked for a <br />continuance which was granted. The establishment then decided to surrender their <br />liquor license and the Authority accepted the surrender of the license. <br />It should also be noted the Authority sent a letter to the Empire after reviewing a police <br />report for their appropriate handling of an incident. The Authority is appreciative of <br />establishments who adhere to State Liquor Codes while maintaining a safe environment <br />for the citizens of The City of Louisville. <br />The Authority also wishes to extend its gratitude to the Louisville City Council for <br />Council’s ongoing support of the Authority. <br />th <br />Approved by the Louisville Local Licensing Authority this 25 day of January 2010. <br />3 <br />ë <br /> <br />
