City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> May 4, 2010 <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> PROCLAMATION NATIONAL SENIOR MONTH <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Marsella read the proclamation proclaiming May as National Senior <br /> Month. Bob Pierce, Larry Brassem from the Senior Advisory Board and Interim Senior <br /> Services Supervisor Katie Beasley, accepted the proclamation. <br /> Mr. Brassem spoke on behalf of the Senior Advisory Board, and thanked Council for <br /> their support. He invited everyone to attend the Annual Senior luncheon honoring <br /> seniors, on Wednesday, May 12 from 12:00 1:00 p.m. <br /> BI- MONTHLY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> Economic Development Director Star updated Council on economic developments <br /> during the months of March and April. <br /> A marketing brochure indicated the price for Sam's Club of $5,950,000. The site <br /> is receiving interest. Walmart submitted a list of restrictions for the property, <br /> including the prohibition of a grocery stores, discount department stores, <br /> pharmacies and liquor stores, The City would like to see those restrictions <br /> removed. <br /> Safeway announced they would close their Louisville store in May. All employees <br /> were provided the option to work at other locations. The 40,000 SF building and <br /> parking lot is about 6 acres. The property is under contract and the potential <br /> buyer has until June 6 to decide whether to purchase. <br /> Business Assistance Agreements: Mountainside Medical and Imagine Nation <br /> have signed leases in Centennial Valley. Chad Sholders received a BAP for a <br /> renovation of 701 Main Street for a restaurant and Zucca Restaurant opened on <br /> April 26. <br /> Economic Development Director Star will attend the ICSC conference from May <br /> 23 25. This event will allow outreach to possible new retailers as well as a <br /> number of meetings with current business owners of the Louisville community. <br /> Post Office repairs to the HVAC systems and asbestos removal are being made. <br /> The Conoco Phillips project continues on track with final submission in July. <br /> Mayor Sisk, Councilor Clabots and Economic Development Director Star <br /> attended a ribbon cutting ceremony at Vaisala in the Colorado Tech Center; the <br /> ceremony was a celebration of the installation of 440 solar panels on their roof. <br />
