Mayor Sisk stated the City Council <br /> supported the employees being paid a wage comparable to the market. <br /> Councilor Yarnell commented the benefit package and the compensation <br /> package is an investment in the City. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> Bruce Becker, 533 Coal Creek Lane, Louisville, CO questioned the employee <br /> compensation over a three -year period during very tough economic times. He <br /> noted State employees salaries have been frozen for two years. He stated <br /> government employees make twice the amount the private sector makes and <br /> their benefits package is second to none. <br /> Gail Wetrogren, 930 McKinley Avenue, Louisville, CO noted many residents <br /> distrust government in general. <br /> Council directed Staff to bring a use tax question and ordinance, for first reading <br /> at the July 6 City Council meeting. <br /> Review of City Manager's Recommended C -I -P for 2011 2015 <br /> City Manager Fleming explained the 2011 -2015 Five -Year Capital Improvement <br /> Program (C -I -P) is an integral part of the overall budget process and final budget <br /> document. Upon Council approval of the C -I -P, all 2011 project costs will be <br /> added to the 2011 Recommended Budget presented to Council in October. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Marsella questioned the land acquisition for the City Shops. City <br /> Manager Fleming explained there is a property located to the west of the existing <br /> City shops, which if acquired would be advantageous to enlarge the City Shop <br /> facilities. <br /> Councilor Sackett felt the City Shop construction project is an investment in the <br /> City. Mayor Sisk agreed this is an opportunity to invest in the City at a <br /> tremendous value. <br /> Councilor Dalton felt the City's first priority is the streets, water utilities and public <br /> safety and after those are fully funded all of the other projects should be funded. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />
