Pursue all leads for relocating businesses to Louisville, including but not limited
to those found through local, regional and national business journals, those
suggested by citizens and developers, and referrals from Metro Denver EDC.
Maintain active network with local commercial property owners and area
commercial brokers.
Solicit establishments to fill available retail space.
Participate in Metro Denver EDC activities, such as site selection conferences.
Supporting Comprehensive Plan policies: ED 3.1, 3.3, 3.5
Partnerships – The City of Louisville can not operate a successful economic development
program alone. It requires partnerships with other business organizations with similar
goals, such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Business Association, Metro
Denver EDC, and local merchant organizations. In addition, staff must maintain
connection with the commercial brokerage community in order to facilitate leasing and
sale of retail outlets and employment space. Within the City, various departments can
play a role in either helping or hindering economic vitality. The message heard from City
Hall must be consistently supportive of business. As well, community organizations such
as the schools and the Louisville Revitalization Commission are vital contributors to our
economic health.
Partnership Work Plan Elements:
Target Street Faire Audience and promote downtown.
Consider an expansion of BRaD membership to involve members who represents
primary employers.
Keep Louisville Revitalization Commission apprised of economic development
activities.
Supporting Comprehensive Plan policies: ED 2.2, 3.4, 3.6, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3,
5.4
Reporting/Assessment – Developing and maintaining accurate information on the
business community is important in order to identify trends and take proactive steps to
improve the local economy. Such information also allows us to recognize our
competitive economic advantage. Periodic evaluation of our efforts will keep us viable
and relevant.
Reporting/Assessment Work Plan Elements:
Provide regular economic development reports to BRaD and City Council.
Distribute regional economic development studies to BRaD and Council as
appropriate.
Conduct a Louisville Developer Round Table to obtain feedback from local
developers.
Develop and maintain accurate information data base of Louisville businesses,
including employment.
