Trail List
1. 104 Street Trail Segment Connecting Coal Creek Trail with Rock Creek
Trail and the Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm: The total
trail length would be approximately two miles. This trail would connect the
regional Coal Creek trail to the Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm
and the regional Rock Creek trail. The Louisville Parks and Recreation
Department has requested funding for this project in 2011 and is currently
discussing trail alignment options and grant funding opportunities with Boulder
County Parks Open Space and the City of Lafayette.
2. Central Louisville Trail Segment Connecting the Coal Creek Trail with the
Rock Creek Trail and the Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm:
This trail would provide a second connection between the regional Coal Creek
and Rock Creek trails. This segment would be a more direct connection for
Louisville residents as it departs from a more central location within the
community. This connection would also provide a nice loop experience by
connecting into the proposed 104 Street trail segment. Although this concept is
identified as a conceptual trail corridor in the Boulder County Comprehensive
Plan additional discussions is needed to determine trail alignment in regards to
agricultural areas and privately owned parcels.
3. Trail Segment Connecting the Callahan trail to the proposed East Boulder
Trail: This segment was identified as a conceptual trail alignment (parallel the
Burlington Northern Rail Road) in the Boulder County Comprehensive Plan. In
the future, this trail could tie into the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain
Parks proposed East Boulder Trail. Additional discussion is needed with the City
of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks and owners of private parcels to
determine potential trail alignment options.
Map of Louisville Trail Request for 2010
Arrows indicate conceptual trail start and end points not actual trail alignment.
1 -u 1/4.c,
t"
t OWN Y.0
II TH PACE
tz.-.1
CALLAHAN .t -1J `"i Ys a n „i
UPEN SPACE
.1
HEIART r PARK rw t ac oa:u+w r y r
r .J
1
a.
1 F' M +R6i\'A [w}.DYV
44 Y, O s QT 5 r y.' 5, 3 UftM VAQ 0
CENiENNIAI PAR 1
Ar. 4 J Q iiCin3Y G' fx'
South Boulder Road 1 2 I i xx vrzc U.r_v
s_" tx.4 A
