Cultural Council
Meeting Minutes
DATE
Called SCFD about all of our money being put together. They said they did it for
a lot of groups. They did not specify how much should go to what. We should
use the same percentage as in the past.
A lot of our money is in- kind which creates a problem for getting grants.
Wendy asked Sandra who didn't think it was a problem.
SCFD says don't list in- kind.
We pay for most expenses for the Arts Center. Next year we will pay janitorial
also. Every line item will go down. Approximately $20,000 comes from the city.
That is their entire arts budget.
The city is looking at what to cut. Now would be the time to speak up about what
you want to stay. Rec center asked to come up with $150,000 in reductions.

In the budget is listed "City Contractual Services" - we don't know what that
means for sure. Kathy says that was generated by the group and doesn't come
from the city. It has been carryover. We need to look back at the records.
We are also unsure about "City Supplies and Personnel". It has something to do
with the SCFD grant. It may be our portion of the rent
Other groups use the Arts Center for free - we pay for them.

IT guy is setting up the email.

Julie - have to have schedule requests by Oct 1 - we could have until Oct 9.

Vacant positions - Two will be advertised again in late fall for 2007.

Events Schedule Update
No new events
Children's Concert - looking to reschedule.
Nov 18 Silent Movie

Meeting needs to be set up about the banner.

We could advertise to potential sponsors with a quarterly brochure or flyer.

Proposed New Louisville Arts Center
Wendy suggests we let the City Council know what we are up to when we meet
with them. We should be proactive and ask how we could work with them. The
work session was just for Arts Center discussion. Maybe a subcommittee could
work on the presentation.

Don believes it is all caught up in Urban Renewal. If we could get it across that it
won't cost money and will bring in money. We need to get across that it is an
asset and not a liability.
