•
•
Mr. and Mrs James R. Ehrets
658 Cleveland Avenue
Louisville, CO 80027-2712
September 15, 1992
Louisville Board of Adjustment
City Hall
Louisville, CO 80027
Dear Members of the Board:
I will be in Colorado Springs on September 16, 1992 at the time scheduled for your
consideration of the application for side setback variance requested by our neighbors,
Mike and Dixie Patrick. Since I cannot be present to support their application in
person, we have asked the Patricks to provide you with this letter to consider in
support of their request.
The Patricks have discussed the proposed addition with us from its inception.
Approval of the variance they have requested would result in an addition to their
home that would be more visually pleasing than an addition built within the
setback. It would allow the addition to take the place of the existing fence, opening
up the area immediately adjacent to our house and improving the view. We would
much prefer the proposed addition to the present fence, or to an addition within the
setback variance which would leave an unsightly and useless "alley", more than 40
feet in length, between the fence and their garage, simply to enforce the setback
requirement. The 20 foot "alley" which now exists is not useful, and a 40 foot space
would be doubly bad.
The proposed addition would be an improvement to the Patrick's home, to our
views, and to the neighborhood. Because the proposed location is primarily behind
the Patrick's existing house, it is unobtrusive, and the planned addition is tasteful.
We believe that the proposed addition will have a positive impact in the
neighborhood, and we urge you to give your favorable consideration to the Patrick's
request.
Very truly yours,
/
i
/
Jim and Mary Ehrets
