Planning Commission <br />Staff Report <br />May 9, 2024 <br />lean heavily on getting feedback on Attachment 1 as it relates to developing these future <br />scenarios. <br />Next Steps <br />The project team will continue to analyze the community engagement results in the <br />coming weeks and start developing a framework for future scenarios and what the next <br />community engagement window will look like. City Council is also scheduled to discuss <br />the Plan with a similar framework to this meeting on June 4. The timeline for the next <br />community engagement window is planned for late Summer 2024, with some interim <br />community engagement touchpoints earlier in the summer. The consultant team will <br />provide an overall project schedule and status update at the May 9 Planning <br />Commission meeting. <br />REQUEST FOR PLANNING COMMISSION FEEDBACK <br />The project team is requesting feedback from Planning Commission on the following <br />questions to inform the Plan's next steps: <br />1. Regarding the Existing Conditions Assessments (Attachment 1) and to inform <br />developing Comprehensive Plan growth scenarios for stakeholder input: <br />a. Does Planning Commission have any questions about the information in the <br />existing conditions assessments or any important information you feel is <br />missing? <br />b. The Market Analysis of Growth Potential and Trends indicates that there are <br />significantly more jobs anticipated to be created than residents added <br />(17,349 jobs versus 1,445 residents) in Louisville in the future, based on <br />existing conditions and current trends. What specific land uses or geographic <br />areas are important to be thinking about for focusing housing and/or <br />business growth? <br />c. The Market Analysis of Growth Potential and Trends indicates the <br />manufacturing section has been the fastest growing employment sector in <br />Louisville. What land use policies that should be considered related to <br />economic sectors and job growth? <br />d. The Transportation Assessment identifies improvements in regional <br />connectivity as a key opportunity in the future. What feedback does the <br />Planning Commission have related to transportation connectivity? Are there <br />certain modes or locations we should consider? <br />e. The Environmental Assessment identifies opportunities for ecological <br />restoration, fire mitigation, and wildlife corridor preservation. Are there any <br />other environmental opportunities that should be considered? <br />2. Regarding the Comprehensive Plan's Value Statements <br />a. Based on the initial responses from the community that all of the core values <br />are important, the team recommends consolidating these into broader <br />
