Absent: Councilor Muckle.
RESOLUTION No. 47. SERIES 2010 A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE JACOE-
CONARROE HOUSE, 1131 JEFFERSON AVENUE, AN HISTORIC LANDMARK
Public Hearing (CONTINUTED FROM 8/17/10)
Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation.
Planning Director Russ explained Resolution No. 47, Series 2010 designates the Jacoe-
Conarroe House a historic landmark. The house at 1131 Jefferson Avenue was
constructed in 1932 and is located within the Capitol Hill Subdivision Addition, plat of
1904. There are no records of previous structures located on this property prior to 1932.
The wood frame and stucco house was designed and constructed in a craftsman
bungalow style, typical of the 1920's and 1930's. The house has had only one addition
in the rear of the property and few alterations for 50 years or more. The house's stucco
facade, porch, roof line and windows all appear to be in their original form with their
original materials. The only addition appears to be a 9 foot by 20 foot expansion added
to the rear of the structure in 1956. The addition has not been altered. The building is
currently the home of the applicant Janice Hoffman.
Landmarks must be at least 50 years old and meet one or more of the criteria for
architectural, social or geographic /environmental significance. The site has the
architectural and social significance. Staff recommended the application be approved.
APPLICANT PRESENTATION
Janice Hoffman, 1131 Jefferson Avenue, Louisville, CO supported landmarking her
property.
Mayor Sisk opened the public hearing and requested public comments. Hearing none,
the public hearing was closed.
MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Marsella moved to approve Resolution No. 47, Series 2010,
seconded by Councilor Clabots. Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote
of 6 -0. Absent: Councilor Muckle.
