Resource Conservation Advisory Board
Agenda
DATE
Page 2of 2
Plastic-bags survey questions review:
Mark reported he’ll contact local merchants with a list of questions about their plastic-
bags use, after feedback from board members. Members suggested his questions be
formatted as a survey, with yes/no/maybe response options. Questions should have a
positive presentation, focusing on ‘support’ instead of ‘oppose’ phrasing. The types and
extent of plastic-bags pollution/contamination/waste should be mentioned. Andy can
assist in printing copies of a questionnaire.
VII. New Topics, proposed Action Plans:
Andy discussedthe GEO’s ‘Main-Street’ grant.
Mark proposed a ‘green’ survey of local-business practices; and he proposed we draft
an ordinance for jobsite recycling–Andy suggested looking at the Portland OR tri-
county recycling program.
Andy presented information on Boulder’s options for municipalization-of-energy, related
to their negotiations for a franchise continuation with Xcel Energy. Tom noted there are
options for Boulder to act as an energy distributor, oran independent energy producer.
th
VIII.
