Open Space Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />November 10, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Staff Updates <br />– <br />Ember Brignull <br />1. Ember discussed the commencement and completion of several resource <br />management projects. <br />2. The City Council Resolution Regarding Boulder County Annual Request <br />was briefly discussed. Council approved the board’s recommendation <br />with the addition of the following text: “In forwarding these <br />recommendations, City Council affirms its intent that open space <br />acquisitions are upon condition of a mutually acceptable purchase <br />agreement being reached between willing buyers and willing sellers, and <br />City Council does not intend any acquisition be made through eminent <br />domain.” <br />Joe Stevens <br />1. Joe indicated that Conoco Phillips continues to make progress but that <br />there has been no meeting between City of Louisville and Conoco Phillips <br />since early summer 2010 regarding issues of land dedication. <br />2. It was mentioned that the use tax was passed in the recent vote which will <br />impact the Conoco Phillips project. <br />3. Joe introduced the Takoda representatives: <br /> Dan Nickless – President of Riland Homes – indicated that ground will <br />likely be broken on the project within the next month. <br /> Paul Shoukas – Landscape Architect – provided a brief slideshow <br />indicating the proposed trail and park locations. <br /> Todd Borger – Project Engineer – talked about how a pedestrian <br />underpass might occur under the railroad tracks. <br />Board Updates <br />1. David reminded the Board and Staff that the Davidson Mesa crossing <br />project was discussed by the Board some years ago and approved for <br />action at that time. David asked Joe if any of the historical information <br />was found since the last OSAB meeting. Joe and Ember indicated that no <br />historical approvals have yet been located. David asked that staff <br />continue to investigate the historical data. <br />2. Aaron asked Ember to provide an update on the cyclocross trails near the <br />Rec Center. <br />3. Spencer updated the Board on the opportunity to use CCTV for an Open <br />Space introduction and also five minutes monthly on East County Live. <br />th <br />4. Tom said that on October 19 he taped the first session for East County <br />Live. <br />5. Tom mentioned that there is a “Friends of Louisville Open Space” <br />Facebook page. <br /> <br />
