COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Sisk stated that he has received numerous requests for the Recreation Center to increase <br />their operating hours and open at 5:30 a.m. This would be of assistance to those wishing <br />to use the Recreation Center while on their way to work. Sisk encouraged Council to <br />consider this request. <br /> <br />Davidson directed the Parks & Recreation Director to provide the dost for extending the <br />Recreation Center hours and stated that he received a similar request from the <br />Cherrywood Homeowners Association. <br /> <br />Sisk replied that he has discussed the costs with staff and to open the Recreation Center at <br />5:30 a.m. would cost an additional $15,000. <br /> <br />Mayer stated that during last year's budget session, Council agreed to discuss the <br />possibility of a Recreation Center expansion. He stated that he has received numerous <br />suggestions for expanding the Recreation Center from Louisville residents and proposed <br />involving the residents in any upcoming discussions on this matter. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1291, SERIES 1998 -- AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO ANNUALLY ESTABLISH DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION FEES - <br />PUBLIC HEARING (ADVERTISED LOUISVILLE TIMES 1/9/99) <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />Sam Light, City Attorney, read by title only, Ordinance No. 1291, Series 1998 - An <br />Ordinance Authorizing the City Administrator to Annually Establish Development <br />Application Fees. <br /> <br />Davidson called for staff presentation. <br /> <br />Paul Wood, Planning Director, stated this Ordinance delegates authority to the City <br />Administrator to annually set and establish development fees. This is to standardize how <br />development and application fees are set and administered. The Planning Commission <br />held a public hearing on January 12, 1999, and approved this Ordinance by a vote of 6-1. <br />Planning Commission discussion was primarily directed at the level of increase <br />recommended by staff. The majority of the Commissioners supported the concept that the <br />fees should address a reasonable level of recovery. <br /> <br />Davidson opened the public hearing and called for anyone wishing to speak on Ordinance <br />No. 1291. <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
