She noted the recent global record high temperatures <br />and the need to address climate change. <br />None. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />Approval of Parks and Recreation Month Proclamation <br />moved from the consent agenda <br />Mayor Pro Tern Fahey thanked the Parks & Recreation staff for their work. She asked <br />Ginger Cross, Parks & Rec Senior Marketing Specialist, to tell the story of the new <br />Adventures of Lou campaign. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Fahey read the proclamation <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tern Fahey moved to approve the proclamation; seconded by <br />Councilmember Hoefner <br />VOTE: Approved by unanimous voice vote. <br />UPDATE — BOULDER COUNTY CONSORTIUM OF CITIES MINIMUM WAGE <br />WORKING GROUP <br />City Manager Durbin stated this is an update on an initiative started a few years back <br />with the Boulder County Consortium of Cities. <br />Lauren Folkert, Boulder City Councilmember, stated that in 2019 the Legislature gave <br />authority for local governments to set their own minimum wage in HB19-1210. She <br />noted the unprecedented need for food and housing assistance in the community. <br />Boulder and Longmont have already gotten this presentation and support it. We are not <br />asking for a decision on a specific wage but checking in for support and initial thoughts. <br />Claire Levy, Boulder County Commissioner, stated Boulder County was active in getting <br />the new state rules passed as some areas of the state have a much higher cost of <br />living. She stated the County is interested in doing this as a regional, cooperative effort. <br />
