GRANT REQUEST: <br />The applicant is requesting approval of a Preservation and Restoration Grant for preservation, <br />rehabilitation, and restoration work. The total grant request is $40,000, which is equal to the <br />maximum grant allowance of $40,000. This grant would be in addition to the $5,000 signing <br />bonus for landmarking the structure and the $4,000 grant for the Historic Structure Assessment <br />previously approved for the property. <br />Under Resolution No. 17, Series 2019, owners of landmarked properties are eligible to apply for <br />Preservation and Restoration Grants. Approved work must fall under the categories of <br />preservation, rehabilitation, and/or restoration. <br />Resolution 17 includes a requirement that grant requests be received within 36 months of the <br />date a property is declared a landmark, per Section 12.a on page 8. City Council landmarked <br />1209 Main Street on June 6, 2023, making the deadline for grant requests June 6, 2026. <br />Staff finds that: <br />• All of the proposed work falls under either preservation, restoration, or rehabilitation as <br />noted in the table below. <br />• All of the work is recommended in the Historic Structure Assessment (HSA). <br />
