He began by providing a chronology of what has led up to this meeting
tonight with City Council, and expressed for the group, that they are glad to get
their issues out on the table andasked for City Council support.
He noted that for many months this year, the Senior Advisory Board (SAB) has
been communicating with City staff and the SAB has been trying to convince
City staffthat they are not bound by the rules of the City Charter that are defined
for other Boardsand Commissions. The Board hasstated thatSAB members
are elected by the Senior Advisory Board, and that City Council does not appoint
members to the Board and the Board does not have to follow the laws defined in
the City’s Charterpertaining to membership.Through these discussions there
were many broken linesof communication, misunderstandings and Board
members felt intimidated when as many as four City staff attended the meetings
including the Parks and Recreation Director and the City Manager.
City of Louisville
City Council 749 Main Street
Louisville CO 80027
303.335.4533 (phone) 303.335.4550 (fax) www.LouisvilleCO.gov
