Authority Report 2010 (cont.)
Suspected liquor code violations continue to be reviewed on an individual basis by the
Authority as incidents occur. Several incidents were reviewed and determined to require
no further action by the Authority. The Authority continues to encourage license holders
to appear before the Authority to discuss questions and concerns either the licensee or
the Authority might have and what can be done to avoid problems.
The Authority had two Show Cause issues this year.
1& 2) Beef "0" Brady's: One incident concerned ownership and financial interest in
the establishment and food availability. The other incident addressed loitering of an
intoxicated person and conduct of the establishment and reporting of disturbances.
Kristin Brown was appointed as Special Prosecutor and after investigation,
presented stipulations on both cases. The licensee admitted to failure to
immediately notify law enforcement and modifying premises. They agreed to a 7
day suspension with 4 days held in abeyance on each case to run concurrently with
some stipulations as to how the modified premises would operate. The licensee
returned with their attorney and asked the Authority to pay a fine -in -lieu, which was
accepted. This licensee transferred their license to a new owner shortly after these
incidents.
The Authority wishes to extend its gratitude to the Louisville City Council for Council's
ongoing support of the Authority.
Approved by the Louisville Local Licensing Authority this 25 day of January 2010.
Marguerite Lipton
Chairperson
Local Licensing Authority
ATTEST:
Ct-
Carol Hanson, Deputy City Clerk
3
