City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />January 10, 2011 <br />Page 2of 5 <br />Site Consumption, Prohibited Acts, Deliveries, Hours of Operation, and Fees. <br />Across the four communities, application fees range between $500 to $3,000, <br />License fees $700 to $3,000, Renewal fees $700 to $3,000 and Finger Prints <br />$16.50 to $38.50. <br />In Louisville, there would be two licenses offered, (1) a Center License and (2) <br />Infused Product License. Cultivation would not be allowed. Proposed license <br />fees for the City of Louisville are to be determined, and staff recommended the <br />ordinance to define the fees. The Local Licensing Authority would regulate the <br />licensing for medical marijuana operations in the City. <br />Some important points from the draft ordinances are: <br />No medical marijuana center, or medical marijuana-infused product <br />manufacturer shall at the time it is established and first licensed by the <br />City be located <br />-within 1,320 feet of a public or private elementary, middle, junior <br />high, or high school; an alcohol or drug treatment facility; the <br />principal campus of a college, university, or seminary; or a <br />residential child care facility. <br />-Within 1,320 feet of twomedical marijuana centers and/or <br />medical marijuana-infused product manufacturers <br />-upon any City property; <br />-in a residential unit or any residentially zoned districts; or <br />-within the Agricultural (A), Open Space (OS), Administrative <br />Office (AO), Business Office (BO), Administrative Office <br />Transitional (AO-T), Industrial (I), Planned Community Zone <br />District (PCZD), Mixed Use (MU-R), Commercial Neighborhood <br />(CN), or Commercial Community (CC) zone districts. <br />No licensed premises for a medical marijuana center or medical marijuana <br />infused product manufacturer shall at the time it is established and first <br />licensed by the City, be located in a physical space exceeding 1,800 <br />square feet of leasable floor space. <br />No medical marijuana center or medical marijuana-infused product <br />manufacturer shall operate as an outdoor or transient retailer, vendor or <br />peddler. <br />Medical marijuana centers may be open for business only between the <br />hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. <br />All signage shall comply with the City of Louisville’s Commercial <br />Development Design Standards and Guidelines. No signage or <br />advertising shall use the word “marijuana” or “cannabis,” unless the word <br />or phrase is immediately preceded by the word “medical.” <br />Based on the draft of the current two Ordinances, there would be no more than 4 <br />additional medical marijuana centers that would be able to be licensed in the <br /> <br />
