Boulder Sausage was complimentary of <br />City staff. <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIEFING: <br />Takoda Metro District — Justin McClure, of RMCS, gave an update on the Takoda development off <br />of Hwy. 42 and Paschal. The project has been in the planning stages since 2006. Ryland Homes <br />will be the primary builder. Boulder Creek Homes, located in Louisville, will also be a builder. <br />Work is finally beginning on the property where 350 residential units are planned and 5'/Z acres of <br />commercial adjacent to Hwy. 42. A signal warrant is in place for a traffic signal on Hwy. 42 and <br />Paschal and the Takoda Metro District will be contributing 25% funding for this signal, and they are <br />working with CDOT and the City in order to ensure the signal is put in place to accommodate this <br />development. The new name of the development has been changed to Steele Ranch. Possibly <br />in the spring of 2011 lots will be up for sale. RMCS staff looks forward to working with the City in <br />the future on this project and other projects. <br />Jacques Blanchard, owner of Alley Cat restaurant, gave an update on the changes planned for the <br />restaurant. The restaurant will be closed for approximately 2 months during the renovation, and <br />the plan is to complete all renovations by March 1, 2011. Alley Cat will be rebranded and called <br />The Rex, to honor the historic theater formerly in the building. A second story enclosed space and <br />a half -patio will be constructed, tin siding put on the front of the building as well as including other <br />aspects of the original building facade. A sprinkler fire alarm system will be installed. Jacques is <br />working with the Historical Preservation Commission (HPC) to apply for funding through a <br />conservation easement. <br />Because of time constraints, Bonnie distributed additional updates via an email following the <br />meeting.
