Revitalization Commission <br />Minutes <br />December 13, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Business Matters of Commission <br />Visit with Jacques Blanchard – Alley Cat/Rex restaurant <br />1. <br />improvements <br />Jacques notified the LRC that the Planning Commission vote 7-0 on the <br />updates to the Rex Theater project. Their new plan will include a rooftop <br />patio and other façade updates. This project will restore partial <br />components of the old Rex Theater such as the marquee. The project will <br />th <br />go before city council on January 4 for final approval. The updates to the <br />building also include a new sprinkler system. The addition will include <br />2,300 square feet. The addition had 1,000 sqft exempt from more parking <br />and 2 spaces will be purchased as fee-in-lieu. <br />2. Continued discussion of Plan for Downtown Pedestrian Plan <br />improvements – ranking/prioritization of individual projects <br />(Planning Dept) <br />Gavin McMillan provides an overview presentation of the DPPAC. Gavin <br />explained that the morning exercise was important to gauge support for <br />the proposed improvements. Gavin explained the “dot exercise” that the <br />LRC would be completing at the meeting. Michael Menaker explained that <br />the parking project at the post office needs additional consideration and <br />might not be financially sound or feasible. Michael Menaker also noted <br />the need for improved signage at Main Street and South Boulder Road. <br />The LRC completed the “dot exercise” with staff. Gavin explained that <br />next Thursday there was an open house, planning commissions would <br />review the results in January, and city council would review the results in <br />February. <br />3. Report on signalization of Hwy 42/Arnold Property <br />The Arnolds have been working with their architects to put together a plan <br />for the site to submit to CDOT. Bonnie and the Arnolds are continuing <br />conversations about signalization near the property with CDOT. <br />4. Update on Village Square Shopping Center/Louisville Plaza/Grain <br />Elevator RFP timeline <br />The Village Square properties are still for sale, no contracts as of yet. <br />Louisville Plaza has indicated that the Blockbuster will be rejecting their <br />lease in bankruptcy proceedings. The King Soopers fueling station is <br />planning to “break ground” January 5, 2011. The proposal review and <br />interviews for the historic analysis of the Grain Elevator is nearly complete. <br />Staff will have a recommendation to council in the upcoming weeks. <br /> <br />
