Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda (Limit to 3 Minutes) <br />Rick Brew of Steele Ranch noted that they recently acquired the Aggregate <br />Industries properties in the urban renewal area. Scott Urban and Elizabeth <br />Baker (residents) were present and noted that they had recently talked with <br />Bonnie about the potential use for the Safeway Center. Scott would like to <br />see some of the space be reused as Patchwork School is expanding. In the <br />future they would like to expand their services and stay in Louisville. They <br />have shown examples of how the parking lot has been turned into small <br />farming for educational purposes. Elizabeth explained that Patchwork started <br />as a preschool and now it is an elementary school. Patchwork would like to <br />expand into spaces into more of a community center and small farm. <br />Possibilities for partnerships with others is important for future growth. LRC <br />commissioners are interested in the ideas and would like to keep moving <br />forward. LRC commissioners discussed the need to keep the Safeway site <br />on the tax generating log, but encouraged Scott and Elizabeth to contact the <br />property owner to discuss potential ideas <br />VI. Reports of Commission <br />Michael Menaker informed the LRC and the Daily Camera article on Savor <br />the Favor. Local Louisville residents are all participating in a fund raising <br />event on Friday 11th (February). The funds help Louisville seniors. Mayor <br />also mentioned the press on the Louisville Art Walk.
