City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />February 8, 2011 <br />Page 2of 3 <br />youth in the area. From the 2009 Point-in-Time Survey, there were 214 <br />homeless youth under the age of 18 in Boulder County. 61 of the 214 were <br />unaccompanied by an adult/guardian. The Attention Homes program is funded <br />in part by Boulder County,however, the County contribution for 2011 hasbeen <br />cut in halfand so to meet their $1 million budget for the current year, Attention <br />Homes is seeking contributions from private individuals, City and County <br />governments. In the past, funding for Attention Homes has been largely <br />provided by private donors contributing an estimated 60-70% of the total dollars <br />needed to run the program. Attention Homes is in need of raising $700,000 to <br />support their program in 2011. <br />Update/Discussion –Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board (LSAB) <br />Introductions and Activities <br />(Presenter: Mary Ann Heaney) <br />The Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board members attended tonight’s Study <br />Session. Members Present: Cullen Choi, Mary Ann Heaney, Andy Johnson, <br />Arno Laesecke, Mark Persichetti, Ted Sontrop, Annie Hughes was absent. <br />Mary Ann Heaney presented onbehalf of the Board their 2010 Accomplishments <br />and2011 Goals. Members of LSAB work individuallyon their own and as a <br />group and work on Goals they have a passion for accomplishing. The role of <br />Chair and Secretary is rotated through the membership. The Board is working <br />with City staff to expand the information that is provided on their City web page. <br />A presentation on Livable City Concepts and Opportunities for Louisville was <br />presented by Mary Ann.One of the concepts discussed was the health benefits <br />achieved through Livable Cities. <br />The Mayor talked about Louisville’s involvement with the Metro Mayors “Live <br />Well Colorado”and that Louisville is in the running for the opportunity for grants. <br />The Mayor reminded folks that City Council adopted the Parking and Pedestrian <br />Action Plan just last week that embraces a lot of the same concepts as Livable <br />City. The Mayor thanked the Board for their inspiration and energy they bring to <br />the City. <br />Update/Discussion –Ward Boundary Revisions <br />(Presenter: Susan Dellinger, GIS Coordinator) <br />The Louisville City Charter has specific language outlined regarding ward <br />boundaries and necessary revisions following each 10-year census period. The <br />City Charter states that the population in any ward shall not vary by more than <br />5% from the population in any other ward. In advance of receipt of the final <br />census, the City is getting a head-start to look at the current Ward boundaries <br />and discussing the process that will take place with City Council on how the <br />Ward boundaries willchange.A current ward boundary map was laid out on the <br />table and Council, staff and the public gathered around to review the current <br /> <br />
