Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
June 13, 2024
There was an extended discussion of the specific phrasing of the idea of the "small town
atmosphere".
Hirt noted that staff was trying to understand what "small town" meant to residents.
Brauneis moved the discussion onto the proposed values.
Baskett noted that the proposed values needed to be better defined, and that they
needed to get a better sense of how residents of Louisville related to them. She suggested
that the term "transportation choices" could be too jargony.
Hirt noted that there would be a reliance on imagery for this to help convey its meaning
with community engagement.
Mihaly suggested that it could be rephrased as "support a multitude of transportation
options and connections to places for all abilities".
There was a consensus that "options" would be a more appropriate word to use.
There was further discussion of how the proposed values would be interpreted, and their
potential implications.
Baskett suggested that there be an additional value statement to address regional
partnerships with other local governments.
Mihaly asked whether a point about affordable housing would be added.
Hirt said that there had been a serious discussion, but the consensus was that it was
covered by the point about "inclusivity".
PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS
None were heard.
STAFF COMMENTS
None were heard.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn was moved by Baskett, seconded by Hunt, and adopted by voice vote.
The Commission adjourned at 8:33pm.
