COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />PRESENTATION - CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT FOR EXCELLENCE <br />IN FINANCIAL REPORTING AND DISTINGUISHED BUDGET <br />PRESENTATION AWARD <br /> <br />Davidson called for staff presentation. <br /> <br />Dianne Ray, Finance Director, thanked Council for this presentation and for the honor of <br />receiving this Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and <br />representing the City of Louisville in this distinguished category. This is a prestigious <br />national award that recognizes conformance with the highest standards for preparation of <br />a state and local government financial report. The City of Louisville has received the <br />award annually since 1990. The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is for <br />publishing a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an <br />operations guide, as a financial plan and as a communication device. She stated that this <br />award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and represents a <br />significant achievement by the City of Louisville. She praised her staff for helping to <br />achieve these awards with the high quality of work they produce. <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that also included with the awards is a <br />certificate from the Government Finance Officers Association for Dianne Ray as the <br />Director of Finance for the City of Louisville. It is' an award that is presented to those <br />individuals who have been instrumental in their government unit achieving the awards <br />that are presented here tonight. It represents the highest award in governmental financial <br />reporting. <br /> <br />Davidson thanked Dianne Ray and her staff on behalf of the citizens of Louisville for <br />their hard work and for achieving this award for eight consecutive years. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11, SERIES 1999 - AMENDMENT OF THE 1999 BUDGET <br /> FOR 1998 OPEN ENCUMBRANCES <br /> <br />Davidson called for staff presentation. <br /> <br />Dianne Ray, Finance Director, stated that this is a supplemental appropriation, which <br />takes the money that was appropriated in 1998 for unfinished projects and rolls it over <br />into the 1999 budget. The projects include: the purchase of open space; the completion of <br />the computer project; the completion of the 1998 trails; and open space water rights <br />purchases. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
