Call to Order - Mayor Sisk called the meeting to order at 7 pm.
City Council Present: Mayor Charles Sisk,
Mayor Pro Tern Don Brown (7:10 p.m.)

Council members: Sheri Marsella, Ron Sackett, Dave Clabots,
Bob Muckle (7:15 p.m.), and Frost Yarnell (7:10 p.m.)

Staff Present:

Julie Boyd, Deputy City Manager
Paul Wood, Planning Director
Belinda Dogan-Pishner, Administrative Assistant

Mayor Sisk shared a very positive letter he received today regarding customer service at
the Coal Creek Golf Course and reported on the US 36 Transit-Oriented Development
workshop he attended this morning.

Paul Wood reported on the information that was discussed during the afternoon session
of the workshop.

2. Staff Introduction - Off-Premise Monument Signs
Paul Wood explained that when City Council approved Ordinance 1499, Series 2006,
amending the Louisville Municipal Code and the Commercial Development Design
Standards & Guidelines, there was a request to provide a process by which a
commercial/retail off-premise sign application might be reviewed by the City. The City
Attorney drafted an amended ordinance which would allow an applicant to request an
off-premise sign through the PUD process.

Council expressed concern for the 25' maximum height, as well as the 200 sf sign area.
They discussed limitations to the approval process, to prevent unintended
consequences of approving the amended ordinance.

Mayor Pro Tem Brown suggested contacting the businesses along US 36/McCaslin who
have expressed an interest in installing off-premise signs to see what type of signage
they would like to pursue, and work with them to see if a compromise could be reached.

City Council
303.335.4533 (phone)

City of Louisville
749 Main Street
303.335.4550 (fax)

Louisville CO 80027
www.ci./ouisville.co.us
