Open Space Advisory Board <br />Information Item 6: Staff Updates Continued <br />December 11, 2024 <br />Page 2of2 <br />3. All phase I signs (parking, direction, Coal Creek Trail Corridor, and caution signs) have been <br />installed, with a total of 35 signs and 6 posts replaced. <br />4. Phase II signs (information, rules and regulations) are being evaluated for design aspects, <br />with some being planned to be ordered before the end of the year. <br />5. Trail counters at Davidson Mesa are continuing to be monitored, with an estimated <br />October visitation of 17,450. <br />6. Staff is finalizing and reviewing the completion of the fire perimeter mowing services for <br />the 2024 season. <br />7. Staff has begun working on and reviewing the Lake to Lake phase of the Wayfinding <br />Project to assist the City's Parks Project Manager in finalizing the project plans. <br />Resource Protection: <br />1. Rangers are moving forward with purchasing two e-bikes to replace aging manually <br />powered models for patrol use. Louisville Cyclery provided the most cost-effective bid <br />and was chosen as the vendor for the bikes. A citizen provided a donation that will cover <br />the cost of the two e-bikes. <br />2. Rangers will conduct nighttime patrols in December to identify illegal holiday <br />decorations, such as electric lights, ornaments, and other holiday displays, on City - <br />owned land. <br />3. In November, rangers observed the highest trail use and enforcement numbers since <br />August. <br />Education/Volunteer: <br />1. The interpretive panels for Daughenbaugh and Davidson Mesa have been finalized and <br />are in production. <br />Education Events Past: <br />1. Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, Louisville Native American History <br />at the Louisville Library. 50 participants. <br />2. Friday, November 22, 2024 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, Crafting for Conservation: Bee and Birds <br />Habitat Workshop. 3 participants. <br />3. Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, Owls of Northern Colorado at the <br />Louisville Library. Participation not available at time of publication. <br />4. Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, Open Space Stargazers: Holiday Starlight <br />at Aquarius Open Space. Participation not available at time of publication. <br />8 <br />
