Wood replied that the Commercial Development Design Standards & Guidelines require
a stacking distance according to the best demand estimate.

Mayer asked Haisfield to identify the trees proposed for the island.

Haisfield replied the trees are red barberry, which have a mature height of four to four-
and-a-half feet tall.

Mayer asked for a description of the retaining wall along McCaslin, specifically how high
the wall would be.

Haisfield replied the wall would be 30 inches in height.

Mayer stated that he was referring to the retaining wall, and not the landscape wall that is
near the one-story building. He stated that there is a retaining wall shown along McCaslin
and he questions how it functions as a berm. He suggested that the wall be screened to
avoid car lights shining out onto McCaslin.

Haisfield replied that he did not believe the car lights would shine through.

Mayer asked where the height of the retaining wall is specified in the plan.

Wood replied that staff is not aware that there is a retaining wall on the site plan in that
area. He stated that there is a retaining wall along the patio area.

Mayer apologized for his error. He questioned whether the wall was screened by
berming.

Wood replied that Mayer was not in error, and that there is a retaining wall on the north
side of the building.

Haisfield replied that there is a retaining wall that faces Ruby Tuesday.

Mayer stated that it is shown on a private street, and he assumes it goes all the way
around to McCaslin.

Haisfield replied that it does not.

Mayer asked Wood how McCaslin would be screened.

Wood replied that the topography drops down to the site. He stated that there are a
number of trees installed in the right-of-way, in addition to one tree per twenty feet along
the west property line and extensive shrubbery. The tree installation height is
approximately two feet, with a mature height of approximately four feet.

18
