The area weighted average U-factor and SHGC of all vertical <br />fenestration shall be equal to or less than the values specified in <br />Table R408.2.1.2. <br />2. The area weighted average U-factor and SHGC of all vertical <br />fenestration shall be equal to or less than the values for the <br />Northern Climate Zone in the latest version of the ENERGY STAR <br />specification for residential windows, doors and skylights. <br />This provides details on the new optional credits <br />for space heating fuel neutrality. (LECC) <br />[Simplification from LECC] [Flexibility] <br />26.Section R408.2.2 More efficient HVAC equipment performance <br />options is amended to add a new item #15 as follows: <br />15.Space heating fuel neutrality credit: Heat pump with <br />greater than or equal to the federal minimum <br />efficiency rating for the location where the heat <br />pump is installed, and a capacity ratio >_ 70 percent <br />of heating capacity at 5°F (-15°C) versus rated <br />heating capacity at 47°F (8.3°C). For new buildings, the <br />credit value for this item may be added to the credit value for <br />R408.2.2(14) when the requirements of both measures are met. <br />For alterations. the credit value for this item may be added to the <br />credit value for R408.2.2(13) or R408.2.2(14) when the <br />requirements of both measures are met. <br />This provides details on the new optional credits <br />for evaporative cooling. (LECC) <br />[Flexibility] <br />27.A new Section R408.2.2.2 Evaporative cooling is added as follows: <br />R408.2.2.2 Evaporative cooling. Evaporative cooling equipment used for <br />space cooling shall achieve the credits allocated in Table R408.2 where it <br />meets all of the following: <br />1. Not less than 80 percent of the total HVAC space cooling capacity <br />of the dwelling unit is provided by evaporative cooling. <br />2. Evaporative cooling equipment is installed in accordance with <br />Section 928.1 of the International Mechanical Code. <br />
