CRITERIA FOR DEMOLITION REVIEW: <br />The Historic Preservation Commission "shall consider and base its decision upon any of <br />the [criteria!' described in Section 15.36.200(H) of the Louisville Municipal Code (LMC), <br />which are as follows: <br />Criteria <br />1. The eligibility of the building <br />for designation as an <br />individual landmark <br />consistent with the purposes <br />and standards in this <br />chapter; <br />a. Age <br />b. Significance <br />c. Physical Integrity <br />2. The relationship of the <br />building as a potential <br />contributing structure to a <br />potential historical district <br />per the criteria set forth in <br />this chapter; <br />3. The reasonable condition of <br />the building*; and <br />Meets <br />Criteria? <br />Evaluation <br />Yes Age <br />1040 LaFarge Avenue was <br />constructed ca. 1912, making it <br />approximately 112 years old. <br />Significance <br />Social history includes: <br />• Italian immigration history <br />• Entrepreneurship in Louisville <br />• Political involvement <br />Integrity <br />• The property has maintained <br />its pyramidal/hipped roof style <br />and front gabled entry. <br />• 1040 LaFarge appears to <br />have maintained its historic <br />footprint from 1948. <br />No Surrounding buildings were either <br />constructed in the early 1900s or are <br />new construction. Based on these <br />factors, the subject property would <br />not be a potential contributing <br />structure in a potential historic district. <br />The property is currently in the Old <br />Town Overlay. <br />Yes An HSA has been completed for the <br />property and the home is overall in <br />good condition. <br />4.
